Primer

Susay Rock was discovered in the 1970's by Colonel Ernesto Borja, a former mayor and an Ilocano from La Union, when he was assigned to the Navy post in San Vicente, Sta. Town.
Susay Rock is well-known to Philippine anglers as the Fishing Paradise North, Sailfish capital of the Philippines and the Angler's Mecca of the Philippines. Every Philippine angler worth his/her salt makes at least one trip to Susay Rock every year.
Susay Rock is located along the Japan or Kuroshoi current in the Pacific Ocean, one of the major currents traveling the world's oceans like the Gulfstream in the Atlantic Ocean.
Pelagic fish ride this current and that is why Susay Rock holds an abundance of pelagic fishes like Blue & Black Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Narrow-barred Mackerel, Yellowfin Tuna and the like.
It was also the site of several international billfish sportfishing tournaments and is still the site of local sportfishing competitions by the Philippine Game Fishing Foundation and the Philippine Sport Fishing Club during the months of April, May & June.
